Ginge Foglio , November 22, 1956 — November 13, 2018

Obituary of Ginger Foglio Helen V. Foglio (Ginger), age 61, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2018 after a long battle against cancer. She passed in her home surrounded by her family. Ginger was born on November 22, 1956 in Somers Point, NJ.

She was raised in Ocean City and graduated from Ocean City High School in 1975. Soon after, she married her high school sweetheart on November 4, 1978. Ginger worked as an interior decorator for over 30 years at Foglio’s Carpet and Design in Marmora.

She also owned and operated Marmora’s ice-cream shop, Sweet Impressions, for 10 years, which allowed her to impact the lives of the youth in the area. Ginger’s true passion was her event planning and volunteer work. This was seen through her 20 years of dedicated service to the students of Ocean City High School through her involvement with the Drug and Alcohol Free After Prom.

Amidst her own fight with cancer she pursued professional training to then create the “Hope Valley” Cancer Care Ministry currently serving the people of Coastal Christian in Ocean City, NJ and surrounding communities. Ginger served as chairman for the Cape – Atlantic Christian Women’s Connection, a non- denominational outreach for the fellowship and sharing of her love of the Lord. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Bart Foglio, 3 children, Christopher Foglio (Jazmin), Nicholas Foglio (Stephanie) and Alexis Vieth (Brandon).

She was blessed with 6 amazing grandchildren who she loved dearly, Isabella Foglio (11), Gianna Foglio (5), Landon Foglio (3), Camila Foglio (2), Antonio Foglio (8 Months) and Elliot Vieth (7 months). She is also survived by her brother Joseph Newsome (Toni), MaryLou Mills (David) and David Newsome (Lisa) and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Newsome.

We selfishly and jealously wish we had more time with this amazing woman, but Ginger is now cancer free and more alive than she has ever been. “To be absent in the body is to be present in the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8b) Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday November 16, 2018 at 12:00PM at Coastal Christian Ocean City, 8th and West Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226 where friends may visit from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. Burial will be private.
