Gisela Meesenburg (nee Kebschull), 86, of Twin Lakes, WI and Anna Marie Island, FL passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019. She was born in Neustrelitz, Germany on July 26, 1932 to the late Leo and Frieda (nee Bunge) Kebschull. Gisela married Walter Meesenburg in Germany then immigrated to the United States after WWII in 1952.

They settled in Montana before moving to Chicago and then to Des Plaines to raise their three boys. She was an avid cook and loved caring for her family. During the summer she would take her boys to the cottage in Twin Lakes, WI and Walter would come after work or on the weekends.

Winters brought ski trips out west. After the boys grew up, she welcomed grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed her role as Oma, playing games, baking and shopping for good deals. Gisela also loved spending time with her friends and caring for others.

Gisela is survived by her children, Stuart (Loretta), Pete (Mar), and Sven (Ann); grandchildren, Jocelin, Amber (Dave Coomes), Justin (Jessica), Mindy, Kelsie, Eric, Cristina, Hannah; great grandchildren, Hunter, Peyton and Wyatt; and her sister, Renate Brown. She was preceded by her husband, Walter. A celebration of Gisela’s life will be held at a later date.
