Obituary for Gisele Marie “Jill” Brunelle (Pinard) Gisele M. “Jill” Brunelle Winooski – Gisele M. “Jill” (Pinard) Brunelle, 87, passed away peacefully of Alzheimer’s, surrounded by family at Elmcroft Senior Living in Raleigh, NC on April 11, 2018. She was born in Franklin, New Hampshire on August 14, 1930, the daughter of Arthur and Marie Rose Pinard. Gisele moved to Winooski, Vermont after finishing high school.
There she met the one and only love of her life, Eugene H. “Gene” Brunelle. They were married on June 7, 1952 in Franklin, NH at St. Paul’s and were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Gisele was employed at General Electric.
She retired after 36 years with the company. Gisele was a life long devoted Communicant of St. Francis Xavier in Winooski. After retiring she taught religion classes at the school for five years.
She really enjoyed the students. Gisele enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home from Maine to Florida and then some. She enjoyed reading and maintaining her home.
Toward the end of her life with Gene, she enjoyed sitting outside with him, visiting with passerby’s and watching him feed the squirrels. After Gene passed, she moved to Raleigh, NC and was active and loved by everyone at senior facilities. Gisele will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and patience with others.
She loved her family dearly and cherished every moment with them. She is survived by their daughter, Sharon Richards and her husband, Donald, of Raleigh, NC; one grandson, Army Major John Cummings and his wife, Shelly of Colorado Springs, CO; one granddaughter, Julie Cummings of Raleigh, NC; and three great-grand children, DaShaun Eugene Judd, Haylie Gisele Judd and Rylie Gene Cummings and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, in 2012, her parents, her sister, Marcelle Shaw, and her brother, Bertrand Pinard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. Immediately following the mass, Gisele and Eugene will be buried together in St. Francis cemetery behind the church. Arrangements are with LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St., Winooski.
