Gladys was a lifelong resident of Lee County, Virginia. She retired from Donnkenny Sewing Factory in Dryden, VA where she worked as a seamstress. She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church, and was actively involved in church ministries throughout her adult life.

Gladys was well-known for giving new Christian converts special biblical scriptures. She taught Sunday School for many years, and was a witness for Christ to family, friends and in her work place. It was no surprise for her to burst out in words of praise and worship.

One of her many passions involved working tirelessly tending to her beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends. Gladys was known for her heirloom seeds and canned goods.

Gladys carried on their legacy and love for The Lord to the end. Their motto was, “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths”. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Robinette Funeral Home in Jonesville.
