Mrs. Pack was born September 13, 1928 in Welling, OK (Cherokee County) to James Marion Burgess and Violet Teaney Burgess. Survivors include: Daughters, Mary E. (Pack) and David P. Fickess of Cowgill, MO; Phyllis J. (Pack) and Larry R. Markley of Buckner, MO; and Patsy J. (Pack) and Germane Friends of Independence, MO.

Surviving grandchildren include: Tonya Reed, Beth Green, Christal Hicks, Davey Fickess, Tammi Arnold, Heath Markley, Noe Palma II, Blane Markley, Eva Hook, Ellen Martin, Tommy Pack, Jr. and Ryan Palma. Great grandchildren are: Colby, Madison and Christian Reed; Katherine Green Fortenberry, DL, Nathan, Alondra, Louis and Dwight Green; Malorie Rood and Megan Rood Zwygart; Monica Fickess Jenkins, Emily, Marisa and Matthew Fickess; Wyatt and Whitly Gregory; Joel Bennett and Corben Markley; Kolby McClain; Kirsten, Lauren and Jillian Markley; Elijah Markley, Mia Martinez and William Hook; Brynn, Brylee, Briggs and Baylor Martin; Sydney and Cali Cox, Makenzie Pack; Mele and Zea Palma. Great-great grandchildren: Kenley and Karsen Zwygart.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 11 siblings; husband, James Alfred Pack; daughter, Linda Kay Pack; and son, Tommy Wayne Pack. Gladys was a long time member of Liberty Street Community of Christ Church. She leaves behind many dear friends in Independence, where she lived for many years.

Gladys has requested that in lieu of flowers, friends may wish to contribute to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
