He was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Spurlin; and a brother, William Spurlin. In addition to his wife, survivors also include a son, Frank (Dixie) Spurlin; brothers, Mac (Eunice) Spurlin, and Watson (Susanne) Spurlin; grandchildren, Nathanael, Elizabeth, Sarah, Matthias, and Isaac.
