Glenn (Mike) F. Shaffer, 85, of Bloomsburg passed away Saturday May 18, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 1, 1933 in Scott Township, a son of the late Edgar and Margaret (Leighow) Shaffer. He graduated from Scott Township High School and then joined the United States Army serving from 1956 until 1958.

Mike enjoyed farming, reading, and riding motorcycle. He was a member of Grace Reformed Church serving on the consistory for many years. Mike was a member of the Ag Farm Service Agency where he served on the board.

Mike is survived by his wife the former Barbara A. Long, whom he married April 9, 1960, three children; Kenneth Shaffer, Kurtis Shaffer and wife Ginger, and Kristie Lee and husband Paul, all of Bloomsburg. As well as four grandchildren; Jaclyn Siepka, Hannah Lee, Bryan Shaffer, Mandy Morgan, great-grandson Curtis Yohey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Freddie Shaffer, and four sisters; Miriam Follmer, Grace Bogart, Nancy Mattive, and Laura Kline.

Services will be Wednesday May 22, 2019 at 11:00 am at Grace Reformed Church, 1 Pension Street, Catawissa with his pastor, Pastor David Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Tuesday May 21, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa and on Wednesday May 22, 2019 from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to Grace Reformed Church, 1 Pension Street, Catawissa, PA, 17820. Family and friends may send online condolences to allenrhornefuneralhome.com. The Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
