Mr. Glenn Milton Evans, Sr., age 85 of 797 Melville Avenue, Danville, died at his home on Sunday, December 02, 2013 after an extended illness. Mr. Evans was born on July 09, 1933, in Baldwin, GA, to the late Dorsey Milton Evans and Loyal Simmons Evans. He was married to Barbara Jones Evans, who survives him of the home.

He served his country in the United States Army; he loved spending time with his children and family, and he especially enjoyed yard work. Mr. Evans retired as a loom fixer from Dan River, Inc. after 44 years of service. In addition to his wife, Mr. Evans is survived by his three sons, Harold Wayne Evans (Ann), of Orlando, FL, Glenn M. “Butch” Evans, Jr, of Centreville, VA, and Donnie Ray Evans (Denise) of Gilbert, AZ Also, three grandchildren, Daniel Trayeham of Fayetteville, AR, Christy Lynn Evans of Destin, FL, and Kyle Glenn Evans of Gilbert, AZ, and a sister, Mildred Wildroudt of Danville, VA.

Other survivors include three great-grandchildren, special niece, Kathy Short, and special neighbors, Bill and Jean Terry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was predeceased by his brother, Bob Harold Evans, his granddaughter, Kimberly Sue Evans, and his favorite feline companion, Ms. Kitty. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Rev.

Daryl Joyce officiating. Visitation will be held at Barker Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 1097.
