OBITUARY Glennie A. Winchester June 2, 1931 – November 4, 2018 Glennie Austin Winchester died of heart complications on November 4, 2018 at CMC Main Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Winchester is survived by Louis Barnes of Charlotte, NC, and her sister, Margie Demetris Williams of Matthews, NC. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law: Carla Winchester, grandchildren: Gina Miller and Kristen Winchester, great grandchildren: Kailee Melton and Thomas Lee Winchester, III, and great-great grandchild: Braylon Melton.

She is predeceased by her sons, Albert Douglas Winchester, Jr. and Thomas Lee Winchester, and her grandson, Thomas Lee Winchester, Jr. Her predeceased siblings are: Everette Kellerhalls and Lane Austin. Mrs. Winchester was born on June 2nd in Monroe, NC to the parents of Gussie and Julious Austin. She was a high school graduate and was employed by Marrow’s Picking and Opening in Charlotte for 21 years as a bookkeeper.

Mrs. Winchester was a loving and caring woman who cherished her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, playing the piano, listening to music, and caring for plants. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving, kind-hearted, thoughtful, and funny individual.

A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 8th from 7:00pm-9:00pm at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte NC 28212. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, November 9th at 11:00am at the same location and will be officiated by Pastor Arnold Kessler. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Winchester’s life.

Flowers can be sent to the McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park. Donations can be made online to the American Heart Association or by phone 1-800-AHA-USA1.
