Obituary for Gloria D. Dawson Gloria D. Dawson, 70, of Davenport, Iowa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois. Services will be announced in the near future. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to King’s Harvest Ministries in Davenport. The former Gloria Darnell Bloyd was born September 28, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and M. Opal (Shaffer) Bloyd. She was an optician for over 20 years, mostly with Bard Optical and America’s Best.

She enjoyed crafts, decorating, and fashion. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Gloria, especially her grandchildren. Gloria is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and James Terronez of Davenport, and Melissa and Troy Powell of Hiawatha, Iowa; two grandsons, Race and Zane Terronez; her best friend, Linda Brown; and her beloved dog and companion, Sweeti.
