Gloria J. Sperling, 94, of North Port, Fl, and most recently Tarpon Springs, Fl, passed away, Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Pennisula Care and Rehab in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She was a first generation American, born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania on January 26, 1924. Her family moved to Franklinville, New Jersey when she very young.

She graduated from Clayton High School and worked for the local post office for a time, and then became a full time mother with the birth of her children. She was a member of the Vineland Women’s Club, Vineland Methodist Church, where she volunteered to visit members in the hospital, and in her later years, worked with her sister, Addie, at Laurel Lake Deli, Millville, NJ. She met her husband, Victor, on a blind date.

They were married in 1944 at the Franklinville United Methodist Church. Her husband of 66 years predeceased her. She is survived by her 3 children; Joyce (Roy Simpkins) of Garner, N.C., Victor M. (Carol) Sperling of Otto, N.C., and Nancy Sperling of Tampa, Florida; eight grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Condolences in lieu of flowers may be made to ( Daniel will you insert the names and addresses for Alzheimer’s, Leukemia and SPCA groups for Fl) Services will be on April 5th at 2 pm, at McKee Funeral Home in Bridge Port. Fl. Internment will be at Gulf Pines Memorial, 2401 Englewood Road, Englewood Florida.
