Gloria Mae (Barber / Mosher) Johnson passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 16, 2018, in Mountain Green, Utah, after a crippling battle with MSA (multiple system atrophy). She was surrounded by her loving family and her husband, Carl C. Johnson. She was born June 27, 1938, to Mabel V. Brown and Clarence E. Barber.

Gloria grew up in Roy, Utah, in the loving care of mother her Mabel and stepfather Ruben Vernon Stanley. She married Walter N. Mosher on June 1, 1959. They share three children and were later divorced.

She married the love of her life, Carl C. Johnson on July 15, 1972 Gloria loved her family and everyone she met! To her “every day was a gift! ” She enjoyed oil painting, photography, rock hounding, butterflies, and boating.

She learned to water ski at age forty. She loved working in her yard and planting flowers. She had a vivacious, fun-loving, warm spirit; she was always happy and positive.

She graduated from Weber High School and attended Stevens Henagar College. She was employed at the IRS and retired from Hill Air Force Base. She served as a Cub Scout den leader and LDS primary teacher.

Gloria was blessed with three children: Brett (Jennifer) Mosher, Cindy (Jeff) Johnson, and Lisa (Mike) Holmes. She adored her eight grandchildren: Brittney Johnson, Lacy Johnson, Colten Johnson, Lindsey (Holmes) Barney, Amber (Holmes) Womack, Garett Holmes, Parker Holmes and Alayna Mosher. She also found joy in her three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother, Victor Elus. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Gaylan Elus and Roger Barber; and her son Brett N. Mosher. We would like to extend our gratitude to Dennis Poll of Encompass Physical Therapy and Hearts of Hospice.

We would especially like to thank Perri, her loving Hospice nurse; as well as so many others who have extended so much love and service, including the caring friendship of kind neighbors and members of the Mountain Green Ward. Services will be held Monday May 21st at the Highland LDS Stake Center at 5378 Old Highway Road, Mountain Green, Utah. The viewing will be at 9:30-10:30am and the funeral service at 11:00am.

Interment will follow at the Mountain Green Cemetery directly behind the chapel.
