Gloria’s Obituary Crystal, NH – Gloria T. Hedberg, 83, passed away peacefully at her son’s home on Wednesday January 9, 2019. Gloria was born June 29, 1935 in Putnam, CT, the daughter of Atwood and Louise (Dion) Bourgeois. She attended the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, graduated in 1956 as a registered nurse, and soon after married her high school sweetheart William (Bill) L. Hedberg of Fairfield, CT.

Gloria lived briefly in Spokane, WA where she enjoyed hiking the Cascades with Bill, but was led back to Fairfield, CT to be closer to family. She realized her dream of living in the mountains once again when they moved their family to Crystal, NH in 1977. The dining room light burned late into the night when Gloria was reading from her library of religious publications.

She was devoted to her faith and served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in Groveton, NH. She worked at Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin, NH and was the Milan Home Health Care nurse. Gloria dedicated more than 50 years to geriatric nursing and to the care of several family members.

She found solitude and peacefulness living in the North Country and loved the warmth and comfort of her home. If she ever shared with you something picked from Bill’s gardens, you were lucky. She loved walking the beach in search of sand dollars and sea glass, the sound of waves hitting the rocky shore, and sharing family trips to national parks and up the Maine coast.

Gloria is survived by her son Theodore W. Hedberg and wife Pauline of Durham, NH; daughter Donna M. Hedberg of Portsmouth, NH; grandson William L. Hedberg of Newmarket, NH; grandson Christopher F. Hedberg of Topsham, ME; grandson Nathan E. Singh of Dover, NH; grandson Ryan A. Singh of Newmarket, NH. She was predeceased by her husband William L. Hedberg and son John E. Hedberg. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday January 19, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Church of St. Thomas More, 6 Madbury Rd.
