Gordon was born on November 28, 1936 in Appleton City, MO to Homer and Doris (Doty) Holland. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; son, Kyle Holland and sister, Donna Sue Crawford.

Gordon was a 1954 graduate of Lowery City High School, Lowery City, MO. He worked as a painter for Ford Motor Plant of Claycomo, Missouri retiring in 1994. Gordon was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cameron.

On August 11, 1962, Gordon married Joyce Karen Burns in Braymer, MO. Survivors: wife of 56 years, Karen, of the home; daughter, Carmen (Rob) Williams, Cameron; daughter-in-law, Valerie Holland, Cameron; grandson, Reed Williams; 2 granddaughters, Karyln and Maren Williams; sister, Dixie (Howard) Peterson, Osceola, MO; nieces and nephews. A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
