Gregorio “Amigo” DelaCruz, 91, of Fleming Island, FL passed away June 8, 2018 at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, FL. He was born November 30, 1927 in Castillejos, Zambales, P.I. He was the husband of the late Lorraine E. DelaCruz.

Mr. DelaCruz served in the Navy for 24 years and came to Jacksonville in 1969. After his military retirement, he served as a cook at Timuquana Country Club for 32 years. Gregorio was a kind, generous, and dedicated father.

He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, gardening, and dancing. He was also an avid bowler and loved “fishing”. Surviving are his daughters Clarita Silvia and her husband Lawrence of Fleming Island, FL, Mona Sylvester and her husband Arthur of Homosassa, FL / Newport, RI, Starla Stephens and her husband Raymond of Clarkesville, FL; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, four brothers, one sister, one sister-in-law and her husband, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel. Family will receive friends at 1:00pm.
