Greg was blessed with three beautiful children, Travis (Deb) Berrett, Sheila Berrett (“Scotster”) Brown and Greg Jr. Berrett. Greg was honored to be a grandfather of three charming grandkids, Josh Berrett, Rikki ton, and Katie Brown. He was also a proud great Grandpa of three great grandkids; Toby Berrett, Remyington ton and Aviendha Berrett.
Greg was born in Ogden Utah, or as he called it his “stomping grounds”. Greg loved the Ogden area so much he chose to stick around and retire in Ogden. Greg served in the Army Reserves for several years, and was active duty for a short time.
Greg worked as a truck driver before he made his career and retired with the Weber County School District working in Maintenance. Greg’s favorite hobbies were working out, riding his Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide, fishing, golfing and watching football “Go Bronco’s”! Greg enjoyed joking with others, singing and watching movies, particularly “Kelly’s Heroes”.
His favorite thing to say was, “I can’t wait for tomorrow, cause I get better looking every day”. In his younger years Greg worked hard on building his physique to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, we are all still unclear whose muscles were the biggest! Greg also grew tremendously fond of the family that become his own while residing at the George Wahlen Veterans Home.
Greg expressed several times how grateful he was to have such giving and compassionate people in his life to care for him. A viewing and celebration of life will be held in Greg’s honor on Saturday June 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the George Wahlen Veterans Home, 1102 1200 W St, Ogden Utah 84404. From there, Greg will be transported by the Last Ryde and escorted by The Patriot Guard Riders of Utah, along with guests, to his final resting place at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden Utah 84403.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all of the staff and Volunteers at George Wahlen, Bristol Hospice and his ward Independence Branch, who our Pop’s dearly loved.
