Gregory Jonathan Garrett , June 24, 1973 — May 04, 2019

Gregory (Greg) Jonathan Garrett suffered a heart attack and returned home to our Heavenly Father on Friday, May 4, 2019 and was reunited with loved ones who had previously passed away. Greg was born on June 24, 1973 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Gordon B. and Claranne Nixon Garrett. He married Jenalee Western (1999-2015).

Their marriage was blessed with two children, Halle and Jack, who are the light of his eye. Raised in Mesa, AZ & Pleasant Grove, UT, he graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University and a Master’s degree in Human Re Management from Fort Hays State University. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Houston East Mission during the years of 1992-1994.

He had major health issues most of his adult life, he never complained about how unfair life was, rather he looked to serve others who as Greg would say ”were in real need”. We would like to thank all the employees and Greg’s friends from Heritage Care Center in American Fork for the tremendous love and care provided to Greg. According to one of the Care Center’s directors, “He was kind to all of the other residents and knew their names and their troubles.

He listened to them and helped them with their heavy burdens. He loved his children more than words can say”. Greg loved his family and friends, and especially loved to tease and make people laugh.

His love and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Greg is survived by his children, Halle and Jack, his mother and step-father, Claranne and Dale Duke. His brothers, Doug (Stacey) Garrett, Brent (Keri) Garrett, Jeff (Kathy Lee) Garrett, Travis (Maggie) Staker, and Rob (Kaylyn) Garrett.

He was proceeded in death by his father Gordon B. Garrett. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lindon Central Stake Center Chapel, 56 East 600 North, where family and friends may attend a viewing from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery.
