Mr. Slade was born in Williamston, NC. Survivors include his wife Edna Suttle Slade of Mt. Vernon, NY; four sons; Wayne Suttle of Florida, Gilford K. Slade of Mt.

Vernon, NY, Dion Slade of Mt. Vernon, NY and Michael A. Howard of Mt. Vernon, NY, three brothers; Wilmer Slade of Bronx, NY, Samuel Slade of Huntsville, Alabama and Michael Slade of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and four sisters; Marie Wiggins of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mary Clarke of Mehankin, NJ, Aretha Slade of Woodbridge, NJ and Alice Dorsey of Long Island, NY.

, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Tabernacle Pilar of Fire in Williamston, NC. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Taberncale Pilar of Fire in Williamston, NC with Denise Wiggins-Henry officiating.

Interment will follow in the Calvin Slade Family Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
