OBITUARY Guy Furgiuele July 25, 1926 – January 23, 2019 Guy Furgiuele, 92, born July 25,1926 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019. Guy was a humble and God-fearing man, and rarely shared his innumerable accomplishments and accolades. The one thing he would constantly brag about, and would talk to anyone about, was his pride and love for family.
After finishing school at Beaver High, Guy enlisted in the Army at 17 years of age and in less than 6 months after his 18th birthday, boarded the HMS Queen Elizabeth, headed for England. A week later, he found himself on the front lines of France in the Battle of the Bulge under General Patton. He never shared much of his experiences in France, Germany, and Czechoslovakia, but reminisced of World War II’s end, and his assignment from Patton to guard the treasures, artwork, and jewels at Neuschwanstein Castle: a true Monument’s Man!
After his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Beaver, PA, met Dorothy in 1946, and married her three months later. They moved to Texas where he received his Engineering degree from the University of Houston. He began his career at Bovay Engineering where he ultimately became Chairman of the Board.
While there, he traveled all over the world, attended Harvard Business School of Management, and took over the company in 1986. He was named U of H Engineer of the Year in 1993, retired in 1994, but continued to do consulting work through July 2017, at the age of 91. Left to cherish all his memories: sister: Janis Furgiuele Waitkus, children: Terry Lee Furgiuele and wife Susan, Patricia Jean Woodard, Susan Kay Hester and husband Bobby, Judy Ann Martinez and husband Rick, and Cindy Lou Randle and husband Bob.
He touched the lives of his 14 grandchildren as well as his 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dotti, with whom he is now serenading in perfect Frank Sinatra style. Guy was a compassionate, loving, and faithful servant till the end and he will be greatly missed.
