Hannelore “Hanne”‘s Obituary HANNELORE “HANNE” GAHWYLER, 77 Hanne Gahwyler (nee Weber), 77, of Rutherford, New Jersey, on January 9, 2019. Born September 9, 1941 in Ostermünchen, Germany, she is predeceased by her son Albert and her parents, Fritz and Johanna (Weiderer) Weber of Ostermünchen, Germany. Hanne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Albert, son Ray (Michelle) of Manhattan, NY, two daughters, Linda (Rick) Smolen of Bloomfield, NJ and Lori (Mike) Keeler of Rutherford, NJ, and four grandchildren, Zachary and Katarina Smolen of Bloomfield NJ, August Gahwyler of Manhattan, NY and Allison Keeler of Rutherford, NJ; brother Werner (Gertraud) Weiderer of Ostermünchen; seven nieces and seven nephews.
Hanne, Mutti, Oma, Aunt Hanne, Liebling, Ms. Hanne, to know her was to love her, to know her was to be loved by her. Hanne was a giver. And while she seemed to have an endless supply of kindness in her, Hanne saved the best of her love for her family and especially her best friend and husband, Al.
Known for her kindness, her love of swimming and walking, Hanne was also known for her extraordinary baking skills. Of all her loves, her number one was her family. Her greatest joy was when her husband, children and grandchildren were together, either down the shore for the week, or just home with her enjoying a meal or a glass of wine together.
Hanne was kind, caring, comforting, smart, reful, industrious, beautiful, generous, fearless, strong and determined. Full of integrity, loyalty and love. The friends, families and strangers that you have touched even in the smallest, kindest ways are thankful to have known you.
Your family has not only been fortunate enough to have had your thoughtfulness, generosity and love bestowed upon them every day, every minute, but you have also given them the gift of seeing how one person’s kindness can make so many happy. We all hope that we and our families can honor you every day by following the examples you have set. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm in Macagna-Diffily-Onorato Funeral Home, 41 Ames Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070.
