Hansel Phillips, 75, passed away on March 28, 2019 at his home. A native of Ashe County, NC, son of the late William H. and Stella Virginia Phillips Phillips, he was the owner of Phillips Auto Sales and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Wilma Jean Montgomery Phillips of the home; one son, Hansel Richard “Rick” Phillips of High Point, NC; three daughters, Karen Lynnette Wendell of Startex, SC, Christy Michelle Fetty of Lyman, SC and Tina Denise Willingham of Greer, SC; three brothers, Richard (Kenny) Phillips of Trinity, NC, Jerry Phillips of Trinity, NC and Larry Phillips of Wellford, SC; two sisters, Virginia Garner of Surfside Beach, SC and Carolyn Reed of Randleman, NC; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mr. Phillips was predeceased by four brothers, Leaman Phillips, James Phillips (Junior), Ward Phillips and Raymond D. Phillips and one sister, Charlotte Lambeth. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Pastor Larry Mason. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be James Phillips, Richard Wendell, Jr., Brian Johnson, Chance Broach, Adam Phillips and Richard Phillips. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
