Obituary of Hans Brehm Hans Gunter Brehm, 81, of Greenacres, Washington passed away April 26, 2018 at North Central Care and Rehab in Spokane Valley. Hans was born October 16, 1936 in Lendringsen, Germany to Wilhelm and Marie (Krauss). Hans spent his childhood in Germany.

After High School, he attended and graduated from Mining School. At the age of 19, Hans moved alone to Canada where he learned English while working on a farm, then he worked in the mines. He later moved to New Mexico to work in the uranium mines and became a United States Citizen in 1965.

While living in New Mexico, Hans joined the United States Army and was sent to Korea. After his honorable discharge Hans returned to New Mexico where he continued to work as a miner. December 27, 1980, he married Kay Lynn Mallory in Reserve, New Mexico.

After a couple years the uranium mines shutdown and Hans owned a bar in New Mexico and eventually moved to Pinehurst where he owned and operated Popeyes. Hans had a life full of adventures and later studied Hydraulics in Spokane, then moved to Seattle to work for Spencer Hydraulics until he retired in 2001. In 2008, he returned to Eastern Washington.

Hans was a member of the VFW and enjoyed fishing, hunting, western movies, country music, and kept himself busy with projects. He is survived by his loving wife Kay Brehm of the family home in Spokane Valley, Washington; five children Hans Brehm Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Gary Brehm of Salinas, CA, Michelle Ramirez of Las Vegas, NV, Kristen Corbett of Post Falls, Idaho, and Derek Brehm of Greenacres, WA; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Lore Picksak of Germany, and two nieces Ilona Picksak and Danielle Brehm. Hans was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Heinz and Adolf.

A Celebration of Hans’ Life will be held Saturday May 5, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at Bell Tower Funeral Home, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave. , Post Falls, Idaho 83854.
