Harold’s Obituary Harold Berndt, age 64, of Mapleton, died on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Water’s Edge in Mankato. Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Good Thunder. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the Diabetes Association.

Harold was born on March 30, 1955 in Blue Earth, MN to Erwin and Lorene (Owens) Berndt. He graduated from Mapleton High School in 1973 and from Mankato State University with a degree in accounting. On May 25, 1985, Harold was united in marriage to Barb Denn.

Harold worked for Clifton Larson Allen as a CPA for many years and retired in 2002. Harold was a member of Thrivent and was very active at St. John Lutheran Church. He loved sports, playing baseball in his younger years and playing on pool leagues in more recent years.

Harold enjoyed playing cards and socializing. Harold is survived by two daughters, Kristy (Patrick) Miller and Kate Berndt; granddaughter, Melenia Miller; ex-wife, Barb Wede; sister-in-law, Jan (George) Leary; nephew, Jason (Candi) Leary; aunt, Corene Hamre; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary; and many aunts and uncles.
