Harold “Pete” VanDunk, age 81, of Richland, IN passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at home. Pete was born May 26, 1937, in Hillburn, NY, to Harold T. and Mary Frances (VanDunk) VanDunk. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Pete was a member of the Tennyson American Legion Post 463, Indiana Bluegrass Association and “Tribesmen of Rockland,” his motorcycle group. Pete was a longtime tour bus and limousine drive. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, camping and playing pool.

Pete is survived by his loving wife Susan (Fulkerson) VanDunk; daughter, Tracy Harris of Lexington, KY; step-daughter, Monica Davis of Hatfield, IN; sons, Peter VanDunk of Spring Valley, NY and Danny VanDunk of Newburgh, IN; step-son Robert Welch, Jr. of Hatfield, IN; sister, Lorna O’Neal; brother, Meryl “Wink” VanDunk; 19 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Collene Cross, Collette Walker and Inez VanDunk; and brother, Chief Mac. Services are pending.
