Obituary for Harry E. Huston, Jr Mr. Harry E. Huston, Jr. age 75, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2018. He was born in Muskegon on the 14th of May, 1943 to Harry and Veronica (Schulist) Huston, Sr. Harry graduated from Muskegon High School, and then from Muskegon Community College with an Electronics degree.
He joined an accelerated program at Baker College BBL, and went on to graduate from Western College in Arizona with a MBL. Harry was a life-time member of the Fremont Chapter Harley Owners Group, Double Diamond member of the AMA, and held several offices with the Muskegon Motorcycle Club. He was an Engineer for 30+ years (retired).
Harry was a member of The Society of Manufacturing Engineers rising through all the chairs of Muskegon Chapter 111. He also served on many committees in SME Region 3, rising through the chairs to become Chairman of Region 6 in 1995 and proudly earned Certification with Robotics International of SME in 1980. Harry was a proud member of AA with uninterrupted sobriety and recovery at Mercy Glen in February 1988.
He regularly attended local AA groups, The Alano Club and Port City, North Side Giles Rd AA and volunteered at the Muskegon Correctional Facility for many years. Harry wanted to tell all his friends at AA yes “It’s a Bonus Day”. Harry enjoyed the privilege of spending many happy fonderful sober years with his grandchildren Laurel, Zachary, Faye, Brooke, Mitchell, Josh and Marissa all the light of his life, and they survive him along with his step-daughters, Vicki Lynn (Thomas) Hill, Wendy René (Jason) Meyers, Toni Jo (Douglas) Hassevoort; sisters, Julie Huston, Rose Ripley; brother, Michael Huston all of Muskegon.
Special nephew, Mike (Shannon) Ripley and grand nieces of Missouri. Many, many wonderful friends at AA. Harry was preceded in death by his son, Simon Edward; and his parents.
The family would like to thank Lakeside Vista in Holland and Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their wonderful care. MEMORIAL SERVIVES will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd, (231-759-8565) with Pastor Terri Cummins officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to his service.
