Harry Louis Wolf, 88, of Waterloo, IL, died July 17, 2018, in St. Louis, MO. He was born November 23, 1929, in Waterloo, IL. He is survived by his special companion Barbara Johnson; children Russel (Debra) Wolf & Renard Wolf; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Irene Wentzel; sister-in-law Christa Wolf; brother-in-law Wilbert Kohlmeier; nieces; nephews; & cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Herman Louis & Emma (nee Stickann) Wolf; sister Vera Kohlmeier; & brother Nelson Wolf. Harry was a member of Waterloo Rotary Club, 50 year member of Waterloo American Legion, Waterloo Sister Cities, Millstadt Sister Cities, German American Culture Society, Founder of Waterloo German band (leader for 73 years); recipient of Das Bundersverdienstkreuz Award (Federal Germany Cross of Merit), Governer Hometown Award, Illinois Senior Hall of Fame for the Performing Arts, Waterloo Community Service Award, Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award, Waterloo High School Legacy Award, and named Honorary Ambassador of Good Will by the city of Waterloo. He was also the Grand Marshall of Porta Westfalica Fest, a US Marine Veteran, and a member of Musicians Local 29-717 in Illinois & local 2-197 in St. Louis.
