Martha Diane O’Dell, nee Shelton, 72, of Waterloo, IL, passed away September 22, 2018, in New Athens, IL. She was born July 13, 1946, in E. St. Louis, IL. She is survived by her children John O’Dell, Jr. – Navy Veteran, R. Marie (Jeffrey) O’Dell – Jennings RN, BSN, Tonya (Al) Etherton, April (Gary) Zilafro, Kelia (Ed) Elmore, & David (Natasha) O’Dell AAS; grandchildren Adam (Samantha) Gunther – US Army retired, Shania and Gavin Etherton, Cole and Allison Zilafro, Courtney O’Dell, Alex Elmore, and Kobe, Connor, Kaytlyn, Marcus, Trevor, and McKenzie O’Dell; great grandchildren Carmen & Henry Gunther; brothers and sisters Eugene (Eva) Shelton, Shirley (Bob) Dobler, Lloyd (Mary Jane) Shelton, & Lela (Robert) Callahan.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband John H. O’Dell, Sr.; parents James A. and Hazel M. (nee Blackburn) Shelton; brother Basil Shelton; sisters Ponda Bachelor & Dorothy Blackburn. She was a member of Bethel Trinity Church – East Carondelet.
