Hattie was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Elker Lee Dupriest and Priscilla (Dudley) Dupriest. Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, Elker and Pricilla Dupriest, sister, Alice Marie Jones and brother, Edward Lewis Dupriest. Hattie grew up in Kansas City, Missouri.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968 and attended a Vo-Tech school where she focused on Nursing. She was a Resident Nurse for five years. Immediately following, she worked for the Jones Store as a Seamstress, monogramming initials on customers clothing.

She then learned how to tune Pianos for the Baldwin Company. In her last remaining years, she retired as a Mortgage Appraiser for Commerce Bank located in Kansas City Missouri. As a child, Hattie attended Paseo Baptist Church.

She married Johnny Gonzales Jones in 1969 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were happily married for five years. Hattie enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Her favorite card game was Bid Whist. Hattie Dupriest is survived by her sons, Johnny, 49 of Minnesota, Darryl Jones, 48 of Aurora, Colorado, Craig, 47 of Minnesota, Nickolas Jones, 46 of Kansas City, Missouri and Clifford Lasker of Springfield, Missouri; brothers and sisters: Ethel Mae Harris, Elise Fae Hunter, Raymond Lee (Christine) Dupriest, Robert Lee (Kimberly) Dupriest, and Julius Frank (Valerie) Dupriest all of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Simba, Hattie, Tyreese, Breyanna, Michael, and Taleah; great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Service for Mrs. Hattie Dupriest will be held Thursday, June 7, 1:00 p.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
