Obituary for JEROME J. BERNSTEIN Jerome J. Bernstein, 87 of Kansas City, MO passed away April 22, 2018. Jerry was born May 19, 1931 to Isadore and Marie Bernstein who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Stein Smith and brother-in-law, Alan J. Byron.

Jerry graduated from Southwest High School and attended the University of Missouri – Columbia, MO and later graduated from UMKC. Jerry was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1953 – 1955 stationed Ft. Carson, CO.

Jerry was in commercial interior design until he retired in 1981. He met and later married Sandra Elaine Wegerer on June 12, 1960. Jerry was passionate about traveling, but he did it his way!

! Motorcycling was his strongest interest. Sandra was always by his side and a great passenger, they toured almost all of the 50 states.

“It was the only way to go! ” Jerry leaves his wife, Sandy of 58 years; daughters, Dana F. Nachum (Sam), Kansas City, MO, Amy B. Luther (Jim), St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Mitchell Luther, St. Louis, MO, Jill Rebecca Luther, Aurora, CO, Tripp Luther, Ft. Collins, CO, Ben Nachum, Kansas City, MO, Rachel Marie Nachum, Kansas City, MO, Elon Nachum, San Diego, CA; sister-in-law, Betty Byron, St. Louis, MO; great grandchild, Teddy Luther, St. Louis, MO; nephews, John and Richard Stein and many cousins and friends near and far.

Also surviving is our own Querida Suzy Esquanizi Cohen (Bentsi) Haifa, Israel; our own Dorogaya Kairy Koshaeva, Kygzstan, former Soviet Union; our own Querida Phil Ruggiera, Kansas City, MO; our own pal Dusty, West Highland White who was always by our side. Our sincere and deep appreciation to those at Enhanced Home Care, the Memory Care at Kingswood and to Serenity Care Hospice for their wonderful work in making it with ease and comfort. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:00am Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6900 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO.
