Obituary for ESTHER L. KAUFMAN Esther (Lieberman) Kaufman, born on July 5, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at age 89 on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Sheffield Cemetery. Esther attended Kansas City University, studying music.

In her youth, she was part of the Kansas City Youth Symphony, playing the cello. Esther was the loving wife of the late Seymour Kaufman. For many years they lived in Chicago, until their return to Kansas City.

Esther was a Vice President at Cliff Brisbois Real Estate One where she enjoyed working with young couples and helping them find their forever homes. Upon retirement, Esther volunteered her time with many organizations. She especially liked working in schools and reading to children.

She had a special fondness for her pets Kramer and Frances. She also spent time transcribing books for the blind. She is survived by her sisters, Shirley Sander, Rosalyn Burnstein and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and two great-great-nieces.

Esther had a passion for travel and spending time with her family. She was a life member of Hadassah and B’nai B’rith Women. In addition to her husband, Esther was predeceased by her parents Louis and Alice Lieberman, a nephew Warren Sander and a great-nephew Sammy Burnstein.

Donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, Wayside Waifs, or a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Stanley Sharp and the CCU staff at St. Joseph Medical Center for their care and kindness. Previous Events Graveside , JUL 9.
