Obituary for MAE M. BRATT Mae M. Bratt, 88, of Overland Park, passed away on July 7, 2018 in her home at Village Shalom. Mae was born in Oklahoma City and moved to Kansas City in 1945 where she graduated from Paseo High School and, subsequently, attended the University of Missouri at Columbia. In the mid-70’s, after the passing of her husband, Sam, Mae developed her love for Women’s Tennis in which she displayed an incredible talent for the sport, playing until she was 77-years-old.

In addition; she was an avid Bridge player, she enjoyed watching competitive tennis tournaments and she was a die-hard fan of KU Basketball, KC Chiefs Football and KC Royals Baseball. By far, Mae’s greatest passion was for her family. She was the ultimate selfless giver who always put family first.

Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam, and brothers: Steve Pack, Louis Pack and Paul Pack; sister, Frieda Potashner; and brother-in-law, Stan Fisher. Mae is survived by her sister, Charlotte Fisher, three sisters-in-law, Edith Bratt, Florence Pack and Anne Bratt and her three children, Elaine Westmeyer and husband, Ted; Linda Stephens and husband, Dusty; and Joel Bratt and wife, Jean. Mae’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, Jill and Scott Bratt; Dustin Stephens and wife, Stephanie and Cole Stephens and wife, Opal.

Mae is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and two beautiful great-great nieces. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Village Shalom. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City Hospice or Village Shalom.
