Obituary for IDA MAE ORDO Ida Mae Ordo, 81, of Shawnee, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 13 at 11 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers; the family suggests that contributions be made to Jewish Family Services of Kansas City or Micah Ministries KC.

Ida was born on November 29, 1936 to the late Nathan and Blanche Haber, in Duquesne, PA. She attended Penn State University where she studied business. She was married to Dr. Howard Ordo for 25 years and has been a Kansas City Area resident for over 50 years.

After raising five wonderful children, Ida started her own business, The Ida Group Inc., and became a very successful entrepreneur. She was an active member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, Hadassah, and B’nai B’rith. She enjoyed traveling, hosting social events, and spending time with her family most of all.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons: Nathan and Brad Ordo; son and daughter-in-law Marc and Teri Ordo; daughters and sons-in-law Liza Ordo and Bob Smotherman, and Michelle and Mike Fincher; six grandchildren: Joshua, Alexandra, Rachael, Blake, Jared, and Abby, and two great-grandchildren: Cooper and Eleanor. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Ida’s dedicated caregivers over the past two years: Judy Chogo, Tamara Scarlett, and Raylene O’Conor.
