Hattie’s Obituary Reflections of Life Mrs. Hattie Mae Austin was born to Trezevant Jones and Hattie Mae Jones on July 27, 1931. She was born and raised in Memphis, TN and a graduate of Booker T Washington High School. She was united in matrimony to Douglas Austin in 1948.

This union was blessed with five children: Douglas Austin, Anita Austin Price, George Bernard Austin (deceased), Constance Elizabeth Austin (deceased), and George Bernard Austin (deceased). Mrs. Austin was a faithful and dedicated member of Providence AME Church. She served in the Women’s Missionary Society , Church Women United and as Sunday School Superintendent / Teacher.

Mrs. Austin loved her family and church. Upon her retirement from the Federal Reserve Bank, she shared her time unselfishly in the community. Ceramics, arts and crafts filled her day at the Senior Community Center.

She was always available to help anyone in need. Family members to cherish her memory are her son Douglas Austin, daughter Anita Austin Price (Thomas, Sr.), sister Mildred Bell; grandchildren Allicent Austin Pruiett (Damien), Thomas Price Jr., McKenzie P. Price (Mieko), Erin Austin, Adrian Austin, Alana Brown, Avery Smith, Andre Smith, ,; great grandchildren Kylan Carter, Eriel Griffith, Aubree Austin, McKenzie K Price, Campbell Price, Alaina M. Pruiett, Alexia B. Pruiett and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
