OBITUARY Hazel Corene Sturkey April 25, 1937 – January 9, 2019 Hazel Corene Sturkey, 81, passed away January 9, 2019. Born April 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Georgia Cribb. Hazel was a long time member of White Rock Baptist Church.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Richard “Gene” Sturkey; and three sisters, Betty Jean Jones, Doris Masters, and Ann Summers. Hazel is survived by her son, David C. Sturkey (Dawn); three grandsons, Coleman P. Sturkey, Clayton G. Sturkey, and Carter J. Sturkey; nieces and nephews, Wanda Bellamy, William Jones, Tommy Masters, Vicky Rayburn, Kay Snowden, Angela Gryner, Charlene Brock, and Lynn Warren; as well as many loving cousins.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to White Rock Baptist Church, 1409 Peace Haven Rd. Chapin, SC 29036.
