OBITUARY Hazel Eskew March 31, 1937 – September 25, 2018 Mary Hazel Eskew, 81, of Rossville, formerly of Memphis, passed away on September 25, 2018. Born in Camden, TN on March 31, 1937, Hazel met the love of her life, Jerald J. Eskew, and they were married on August 16, 1958. They moved to Memphis and proudly raised three children, Victor, Joan, and Eric.

She was a member of the Forest Hill church of Christ where she led the Senior Singles group. Mrs. Eskew retired from the Nurre Glass Company and later worked with Germantown Properties. She enjoyed traveling, working in the garden, and spending time with her family.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald; her parents, Aubrey and Veatrice Chester; and her brother, Raymond Chester. She is survived by her children, Victor (Kathleen) Eskew, Joan Skundrich, and Eric (Terry) Eskew; six grandchildren, Elaine (Brent) Clayton, Lauren (John) Rogers, Michael (Alison) Eskew, Lance Skundrich, Jake (Erica) Eskew, and Abby (Clark) Pullen; six great grandchildren, Cole, Beckett, Sailor, Harbor, Auden, and Ivy; and her brother, Wayne (Marie) Chester. The family will gather to receive friends on Saturday, September 29, at 9:00 a.m., and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Avenue Chapel.

Interment will be held privately at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Lasting memorials in Hazel’s memory may be sent to the Memphis School of Preaching or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be made at www.
