Obituary for Hazel Grace Hazel M. Grace, 92 of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Fairfield. She was born April 27, 1926 in Freestone County to Obie Darr Crook and Lilie Mae Hughes Crook. Hazel married Homer Grace in a double wedding with her sister Rosa on November 20, 1944.

Hazel was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved gardening and canning. She enjoyed helping other people.

She liked to cook with making big meals on Sundays for her family. She also loved her little chihuahua mix dog “Bulldog”. Hazel is preceded in death by her husband Homer Grace, July 24, 1998 after 54 years of marriage; parents; brother James Crook; sisters, JoAnn Armstrong and Joyce Lewis.

She leaved behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Carolyn Nichols and husband Glen of Fairfield; grandchildren, Sonny Earnest of Fairfield, Lisa Earnest of Temple, Larry Nichols of Fairfield, Laura Byrum and husband Howard of Kilgore. Great grandchildren, Tara Earnest of Colorado, Chance and Kayla Ramsey of Longview, Cheyenne and Kevin Flemming of Longview. Two great great grandchildren.

Sister, Rosa Ridge of Fairfield. Very special niece Sandra Long of Teague. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 1 pm Monday, October 22, 2018 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bro.
