Obituary for Hazel Harguth Hazel Dorthea Harguth was born October 6, 1920, in Crate Township, rural Clara City, Minnesota, to John and Christine (Johnson) Uttermark. She was baptized on July 24, 1921, and later confirmed in her faith in 1934, both at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. Later, Hazel joined the Catholic Church and embraced the doctrine.

She grew up on the family farm and attended District #57 and later the Maynard High School. On September 6, 1938, Hazel was united in marriage to Arthur Harguth at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Granite Falls. The couple made their home on a farm in rural Clara City and they were blessed with six children, Gary, Millicent, Sharon, Ardys, Sandra and Eugene.

Hazel worked alongside her husband and valued raising her family on the farm. She was a member of the Happy Hour Homemakers and a faithful member of St. Clara Catholic Church where she served in many capacities one of them being the Mission group. Hazel’s spirit of service was recognized when she received the Bishops Award.

Hazel enjoyed reading, painting, embroidery, dancing and listening to music, especially country. Hazel always had time for a cup of coffee with those she adored. Hazel is survived by her children, Millicent Koenen of Clara City, Ardys Hughes of Marshall, Sandra (Jon) Rothers of Kerkhoven, Eugene “Charlie” (Betty) Harguth of Gluek; daughter-in-law, D.
