Hazel Kessler February 06, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook Hazel Irene Kessler, age 88, of Osage, and formerly of Riceville, died Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage. Per Hazel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Hazel was born August 21, 1930, at New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Edith (Lincoln) Wesp.

She was raised and educated in New Hampton. On June 21, 1948, Hazel married Merle Kessler in New Hampton. Two daughters were born to this union, Linda Lou Kessler and Cathy Ann Kessler.

They lived in Riceville for over 50 years and moved to Osage in 2001. Hazel enjoyed following her husband’s band, Cousin Merle and the Maple Leaf Cowboys. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Riceville at a later date.

There are no immediate survivors. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle in 2011; an infant daughter, Cathy Ann; her daughter, Linda Lou in 2004; and her brother, Irving Wesp. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage is in charge of arrangements.
