Obituary of Hector Joseph Mareri Hector J. Mareri, 87, of Falconer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong area resident, he was born April 6, 1931 in Jamestown. Hector was the only child of the late Beni and Emma (Beretta) Mareri.

Hector was a 1948 graduate of Falconer High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1954 to 1956 aboard the USS Wright. After serving his country Hector returned home to Falconer and met and married the love of his life Anne O’Kelly. They shared 60 wonderful years together.

In earlier years Hector was employed by Merlin Rockwell Corporation. Because of his love of all things with wheels, Hector opened Hectors Auto in 1958, and then Hector Sales in 1963. He was President of Hector Sales in Jamestown for over 50 years.

Hector was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Spec 88 and Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion. Hector was a kind and generous man, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His favorite hobby was playing golf with his many golfing buddies.

Surviving are his beloved wife Anne O’Kelly Mareri whom he married September 27, 1958 in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church; four children: David Mareri (Lisa) of Jamestown, Kelly Mareri-Molfino (Dan) of Jamestown, Karen Nord (Stephen) of Jamestown, Kimberly Mondor (David) of Philadelphia, PA; eight grandchildren: Greg Mareri, Lauren Mareri, Lindsey Molfino, Morgan Molfino, Ryan Nord, Sean Nord, Brandon Mondor and Cameron Mondor. He was preceded in death by his parents Beni and Emma Mareri. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church.

Rev. Joseph Jananczek pastor of the church will be celebrant. Burial will be in Mt.

Olivet Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society of OLL will conduct a rosary service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

A Christian Wake service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the Falconer Volunteer Fire Department, Falconer, NY 14733 or St. Vincent DePaul Society of OLL, 309 W. Everett St., Falconer, NY 14733. The Mareri family would like to acknowledge the kindness and compassion shown to Hector during his stay at Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
