OBITUARY Helen Agnes SIMMONS January 25, 1925 – September 25, 2018 Helen Agnes Simmons passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Antoine and Etta Swallow on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation near Rapid City, South Dakota on January 25, 1925. In 1942 Helen left her family home in South Dakota and travelled to Seattle to work in the shipyards during World War II.

She also worked at Boeing for 5 years and the Salvation Army for 7 years. Helen enjoyed making crafts in which she would sell at local craft fairs. She also was an excellent seamstress making her daughter Linda’s clothes throughout her growing up years.

Helen also loved to read and listen to music. Helen loved children and provided daycare in a loving home to many children throughout the years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was respected and loved by all.

Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, James Alfred Simmons, as well as her loving son and stepdaughter. Helen is survived by her son and daughter, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
