Obituary for Helen Collin Adams Helen Collin Adams, 93 years, formerly a resident of Kennebunkport, passed away on February 6, 2019 at Huntington Common in Kennebunk, ME, her home for the last four years. She was born in Sewickley, PA April 29, 1925, the daughter of William Welch and Marion Clapp Collin. She graduated from the Westover School in Middlebury, CT.

After marrying W.W. (Bro) Adams, they moved to the Buffalo, NY area in 1947 and lived there for many years while raising their three children. While there, she was active in the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Buffalo Zoo, Planned Parenthood and a longtime member of the Buffalo Tennis & Squash Club and the Buffalo Country Club. Always a great animal lover, she started her own dog rescue business in East Aurora, NY in the late ‘70s.

In 1990, she moved to Kennebunkport to be nearer her children and to be closer to her family’s summer home, which has been in the family since the early 1900’s. While living in Kennebunkport, she was involved with and a great supporter of the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk and a lifelong member of the Arundel Beach Club and the Kennebunk River Club. She is survived by a daughter Cynthia Joyce of Kennebunkport, her son Cameron Dauler, his wife Holly and their three children, Hodge, Addison and Coe of Portland, OR; a son David and his wife Nancy of Sanbornton, NH; a son Chris and his wife Anne of Kennebunkport, their daughter Casey Court, her husband Kiambu Dickerson and their daughter Zola of New York City.

At Helen’s request, there will be no service. There will be a family gathering this summer. The family wishes any donations be made to the Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094 or St. Ann’s Church, PO Box 44, Kennebunkport, ME 04046 in memory of Helen.
