Obituary for Helen Emily Costello (Sarnecky) Helen Emily Costello nee Sarnecky, 75, of Piscataway, died surrounded by the love of her family on January 20, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerset in Somerville. Born and Raised in Perth Amboy to the late Stephen and Helen Sarnecky (nee Totka), she was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Robert F. Costello. Helen and Bob were married February 23, 1963 and settled in Piscataway in 1969 where they raised their daughter, Marion, and have resided for the past 50 years.

Mrs. Costello was a receptionist for over 25 years with the current G.E. Health Care in Piscataway. She watched the company change hands between 5 different corporations, and still stayed in her position, even at the same desk, until her retirement. Helen was an avid trivia fan and enjoyed watching Jeopardy.

She was very close to her dear sister Kathleen and enjoyed going out with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother David Sarnecky and brother in law Curtis Andvord. Surviving are her beloved husband of 56 years, Robert “Bob” F. Costello, her loving daughter, Mac Robertson and husband Scott Erickson, her cherished grandson Colin Robertson and wife Danielle, her dear siblings Kathleen Anvord, Steven Sarnecky, and John Sarnecky, as well as her extended family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for a memorial visitation on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at St. Frances Cabrini R.C. Church, 208 Bound Brook Road, Piscataway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM following the visitation. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at the New Market Fire Company 801 S Washington Ave, Piscataway following the funeral mass.
