Obituary for Helen Hinds Mrs. Helen Hinds, age 85, of Spring Lake passed away June 12, 2018 at White Lake Assisted Living. She was born December 22, 1932 in Bear Lake, MI to John and Sally (Sampson) Swanson. On June 6, 1953 she married Donald E. Hinds in Bear Lake and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2014.

Helen and Donald were active members in the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post 28 and the Muskegon Elks #278. They also enjoyed golfing, traveling to Gulf Shores, AL in the winter, volunteering, playing cards and spending time with their family and especially their grandchildren. Helen is survived by four children: Bradley Hinds of San Francisco, Philip (Okcha) Hinds of Grovetown, GA, Susan (Doug) DenBoer of Holland and Kathleen (David) Christmas of Montague; seven grandchildren: Stephen (Cristy) Hinds, Johnithan Hinds, Matthew (Samantha) DenBoer, Nathan (Ashley) DenBoer, Blake DenBoer, Alexandra, and Abigail Christmas; one great-granddaughter, Brittan DenBoer.

There will be a private family graveside service in Bear Lake later this summer. Memorial contributions in memory of Helen may be given to Harbor Hospice. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.
