Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Georgetown. A Public Viewing will be held at Bethel Church on Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Mrs. Keith died on on Sunday January 6, 2019 at The Medical University of Charleston, South Carolina.

Church Cemetery, Georgetown, South Carolina: Committal / Benediction / Interment Life’s Reflections Helen Violet Marie Jones Keith, affectionately known as “Miss Beasley”, was the baby of her family.

She was born on August 6, 1948 in Georgetown, South Carolina to Mr. Benjamin Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Louise Nowlin Jones. Her parents, and seven siblings, Wilimena, Benjamin, Jr., Lawrence, Bernard, Floyd, Henrietta, and George, all preceded her in death. Helen was educated in the public schools of Georgetown and was a 1966 graduate of Howard High School.

She later moved to New York City. There, she was united in marriage to Mr. Willie “Billy” Keith, also of Georgetown. Their union was blessed with two sons, Derrick and Sheraldton.

Helen returned home to South Carolina, and worked for the Colonial Store, and then Ball-N-Que Restaurant, Georgetown, for thirty years. She enjoyed cooking and took pride in her work. Helen was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, loved her pastor and Church Family.

She served in many capacities. These included having been: Leader of Class Number 29, service as a Kitchen Angel, a member of the Jefferson Adult Choir, and the Chancellor Choir. Helen loved her family unconditionally.

Family and friends knew they could always depend on her in any situation. She was always there to listen, talk and laugh, or make jokes to make others feel better. She was also an avid novel reader and loved word search puzzles.

There was nothing that Helen, wouldn’t do for her boys and “Nannas” granddaughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her legacy of unconditional love and devotion to her loved ones will continue to live on through all who knew and admired her.

On Sunday January 6, 2019, God called Helen from labor to reward. Those left to cherish fond and loving memories are her devoted sons, Derrick Keith of Conway, SC, and Willie Sheraldton Keith of Seattle, WA; an adored granddaughter, Dayzhya Keith of Columbia, SC; one sister, Iris Caughman of Georgetown, SC; two brothers, Louis Jones (Barbara) of Charleston, SC, and Wilfred “Fuzzy” Jones of Georgetown, SC; six sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a host of loving nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and special friends.
