Helen L. Ambeau, 83, peacefully made her transition on June 9, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family. Helen was the third child of Joseph D. and Mary Agnes Douglas, born on November 18, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from St. Peter Claver High School and attended St. Phillips’ College.

On June 13, 1955, she married Joseph U. Ambeau. To this union, six beautiful children were born. After traveling as a military family, they relocated back to San Antonio, Texas.

Helen… Read More » and Joe became very involved in civic activities. They were members of the Dukes and Duchesses Social and Civic Club. Helen later became involved in the Sister to Sister Ministry at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, where she was a faithful member for nearly 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph D. and Mary Agnes; her loving husband, Joseph; her brother, Joseph E.; and her sister, Mary Kathryn. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Joseph and Patrick of San Antonio; four daughters: Tina of Houston, Mary Anette, Deborah and Michelle (Rod) of Atlanta. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Aubrey, Joseph, Terrance, Karis, Preston, Wesley, Adrianna and Donte; nieces: Mary and Barbara; nine great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
