She was born on February 28, 1947, in Felton, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Grady Earl McClain and Lilly Estes Chandler.

Mrs. Hammock is survived by her daughters, Catherine Elaine Calhoun and Christy Lee- Ann Armstrong; sisters, Edna Kelley and Sherry Hicks(Steve); brother, Wayne Chandler; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Robinson, Kyle Robinson, Chadlyn Armstrong and Draiman Atkins; and 2 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hammock is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Hammock; sisters, Francis Parrish and Sandra McClain; and brother, Bobby McClain Sr. Funeral Services for Mrs. Helen Hammock will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.

Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Hammock will receive family and friends on Monday, May 13, 2019 from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home; Messages of condolence can be made to the family by visiting our website and signing the online guestbook at gammagefh.com.
