OBITUARY Helga Lydia Shapiro February 8, 1932 – December 24, 2018 Helga Shapiro died December 24th. She was the beloved wife of Harold Shapiro, the mother of Sylvia and Micah Shapiro, and the grandmother of Jasmine Sanders and Scarlett Shapiro. Helga was born in Berlin, Germany, February 8, 1932.

She came to America in 1960, and married Harold in 1966. She was very active and led the family in numerous activities. She was a member of the German club, the polish club and the Scandinavian club.

She seldom missed a dance, fair or event, and left her family with many wonderful memories. She was a swimming instructor at the Ballard pool and on the ski patrol at Alpental. She was always busy with her hands.

She made book cases for her children which they still have. She wove, sewed, embroidered, made decorations which hung on the walls of every room in the house. She always tried new things when cooking.

She died peacefully. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love, respect and affection.
