He was 88 years of age, was dearly loved by his family, and held in highest regard by his many friends. His lose will be grieved for a time, and remembered always with love.

Douglas was preceded in death on November 22, 2018 by Carol Faye Mayberry, his wife of 56 years. Douglas was the father of three daughters and one son, Wyvette Mayberry, Melissa Mayberry Thornsberry and Richard Thornsberry of Portland, TN, and Patsy Mayberry Haney. He had two grandsons and three granddaughters, one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, June and David Dunbar with whom he and his wife resided for several years.

In addition to his wife, Douglas was preceded in death by his daughter Wyvette Mayberry, and his parents, Casto and Dimple Mayberry. In accordance with their final wishes, Douglas and Carol have been creamated. There will be no memorial services, however they asked that if anyone should wish to do so, they might make a donation to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
