Horning, 87, Bismarck, died January 28, 2019, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 2, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N 2nd St., Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, February 1, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave.

, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Henry was born May 6, 1931, in Sioux County, ND, the son of Henry and Anna (Geiger) Horning.

He attended Bismarck High School and served in the Army out of Ft. Riley, Kansas. Henry married Rose Mary Reisenauer on October 22, 1958.

He loved to work on cars, especially engines, and was extremely mechanical. Henry and Rosie were founding members of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Bismarck. Henry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Mary, Bismarck; his children, Colleen (Ron) Gardner, Olathe, KS, Mark Horning, Bismarck, James Horning, Grafton; his grandchildren, Marie (Thomas) Swanson, Overland Park, KS, and Carolyn Gardner, Olathe, KS; his siblings, Elmer Horning, Bismarck, Angie Olson, Selah, WA, Margaret (Lawrence) Kuntz, Rapid City, SD, Don (Cindy) Horning, Rapid City, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley; and brother, Harold.
