Janet (Jan)’s Obituary Janet (Jan) Buchholz, 82, Bismarck, guided by her strong faith and surrounded by the family who loved her, passed away on January 20, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am CT Friday, January 25, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave. , Bismarck, with Rev.

Wayne Sattler officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 pm CT Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm MT Wednesday, January 23, at Stevenson Funeral Home, 2067 1st St W, Dickinson, where a Catholic Daughter’s Rosary and Vigil will begin at 6:30 pm MT.

Visitation will continue in Bismarck on Thursday, January 24, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm CT at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave. , Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 pm CT. Janet was born January 16, 1937, to Adam and Mary Zollner of Regent, ND.

She grew up and attended school in Regent and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1955. On Valentine’s Day in 1956, Jan married her sweetheart, Reuben Buchholz, and they made their home in Dickinson, ND. She started working at West Plains Electric.

In 1964 she began her career at Job Service of North Dakota, retiring in 1997. As a young couple along with their two sons, Mark and Darren, they made many memories fishing and camping at Lake Sakakawea. Reuben and Janet enjoyed many fun trips visiting family and friends.

Jan had a special talent for playing the piano and organ and used her skills playing for weddings, funerals and Sunday services. She enjoyed gardening, canning, bowling, playing cards, board games, and never found a crossword puzzle she couldn’t master. Jan was an avid grade school and high school sports fan.

She truly enjoyed supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in any sport they participated in. In July of 2012 after Reuben’s passing in 2008, Janet moved to Bismarck. Janet is survived by her sons, Mark (Cora) Buchholz, Bismarck and Darren (Sue) Buchholz, Rapid City, SD; her grandchildren, Eric (Dana Volesky) Buchholz, Keshia (Dan) Holzworth, Jamie (Susan) Buchholz, Nathan Buchholz, Bryan (Kristin Wanner) Buchholz, Kristen Buchholz, Kellan (Sarah) Buchholz; her great-grandchildren, Grayden, Dezi, Keedan, Taya, Miyah, Brooklyn, Ashlyn and Zoe.

She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lenora Metzger, Rosie Bussman, Janice Froelich, Margie Argetsinger, Carol and Stan Freidt, Dennis and Pam Buchholz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Reuben. Janet will be tremendously missed by all.
